Interior & exterior painting in South Florida
From a single accent wall to a full exterior repaint — flawless, even finishes with real prep work behind them: patching, skim-coating, priming and clean lines. Cabinet painting and drywall finishing included.
In Florida, the paint job is the prep work
Humidity is the reason a repaint here fails when the same paint would last a decade somewhere drier. Paint does not fail because it was cheap paint; it fails because it was put on a surface that was not clean, not sanded, and not primed. Everything we charge for on the prep line is what keeps the finish on the wall.
Outside, the sun does the rest. With pressure washing, patching and a premium exterior product, an exterior repaint in South Florida typically holds seven to ten years. Skip the prep and you will be looking at it again in two — which is the most expensive way to save money on a paint job.
Cabinets are their own trade. A kitchen's cabinet boxes are usually sound long after the finish stops looking good, and repainting them properly — degrease, sand, adhesion primer, sprayed finish — gives you a kitchen that reads as new for a fraction of replacement, usually in under a week and without losing the room.
Drywall repair is part of the job here, not an add-on. Cracks, nail pops, water staining and uneven texture all show through a fresh coat, so they get patched and floated before anything is painted. That is what separates a finish that looks new from one that looks painted over.

Interior ranges reflect current Broward pricing for prepped, finished work. Exterior repaints and cabinet painting are quoted per project rather than by a published band, and deliberately so: exterior depends on stories, substrate and how much patching the stucco needs, and cabinet work is priced on the door and drawer count, not the room. We will not publish a number for those that we would have to walk back at the estimate. Every quote is written and itemized after an in-home visit.
What we need to quote your painting
One question changes the price more than any other: will the house be empty when we paint it? An empty house can be sprayed, which is faster and gives a better finish. Occupied means brush and roller, masking and working room by room.
Before we quote
- Empty or occupied while we work
- How many rooms, and roughly what ceiling height
- Whether ceilings, trim and doors are included or walls only
- Any drywall repair needed first — cracks, nail pops, water staining
- Interior, exterior, or cabinets — they are three different jobs
- For cabinets: the door count and the drawer count. That is the pricing unit, not the room
- Whether you are going light over a dark colour — that is an extra coat
On the day
- Somewhere for the crew to stage and cut
- Access to a restroom
- Pets and valuables moved out of the rooms in scope
Where painting actually gets specified
Interior painting
Walls, ceilings, trim, doors. The variables that move the price are ceiling height, how much patching the walls need, and whether you are making a big colour change — going light over a dark wall means an extra coat, and we would rather tell you that up front than surprise you with it.
Exterior painting
Pressure washing, stucco patching, caulking, then a premium exterior product rated for this sun. Seven to ten years is the realistic life in South Florida when it is prepped properly. Priced per project because a two-story house with cracked stucco is a different job from a one-story that just needs colour.
Cabinet painting
Degrease, sand, adhesion primer, sprayed finish — that sequence is the whole difference between cabinets that hold up to daily use and cabinets that chip at the handles within a year. Priced on the door and drawer count. If the boxes are sound this is the highest-return money in a kitchen.
Drywall repair and finishing
Holes, cracks, water damage and mismatched texture, patched and floated so they disappear under the finish rather than telegraphing through it. This is one of our core trades, not something we subcontract to get a paint job.
Choosing colour
South Florida light is harder and bluer than the swatch in the store suggests, and a colour that reads warm in the shop can go cold on a north wall here. We will put samples on your actual wall and look at them at two different times of day before anything gets ordered.
Products we work with
- Sherwin-Williams
- Benjamin Moore
- PPG
- Behr
- Zinsser primers
- Schluter and RedGard for wet areas
We are not an authorized dealer or certified applicator for any of these. We specify what suits the surface and the exposure, and if you prefer a particular line we will price the work around it.
Frequently asked questions
- How much does it cost to paint a house interior in South Florida?
- The number depends on wall condition (repairs and skim-coating add prep time), ceiling height, trim scope, and the quality of paint you choose. We quote it for free after walking the home, in writing, usually within 24 hours — so you know exactly what surfaces, coats and paint line are included before comparing bids.
- Is cabinet painting worth it versus replacing cabinets?
- If your cabinet boxes are solid, painting delivers a like-new kitchen for a fraction of replacement cost, typically in under a week. We degrease, sand, prime with bonding primer and spray or fine-roll the finish — the result holds up to daily kitchen use in Florida humidity.
- How long does exterior painting last in Florida?
- With proper pressure-washing, patching and premium exterior paint, a South Florida repaint typically lasts 7–10 years. Sun and humidity are brutal here, so prep and paint quality matter more than anywhere else — both are itemized in your written estimate.
- Do you repair drywall before painting?
- Yes — drywall repair and finishing is one of our core services, not an add-on. Holes, cracks, water damage and uneven texture get patched and skim-coated before any paint goes on, which is what makes the final finish look flawless.
